I can see why it is a favorite. He is darling. The colors really tell the story and th ear rings. Really neat. To me his expression looks like he wants to talk to you.
It’s unusual to see an Eagle Dancer Kachina with a round beak like this one. Usually they are more lifelike. But I think it makes him extra likeable, that big button of a nose. He’s from the collection of the old Southwest Museum in Pasadena, now a part of the Gene Autry Museum. I hope he’s still available to visit next time I’m in LA.
