Bactrian Camel / Oil on Panel / 6 x 6 Inches
I went, one day, to the Buenos Aires Zoo. It was closed. So, I walked all the way around the outside of the fence, looking for a possible way in. The only entrance, at the rear of the zoo, was blocked by a guard who wasn’t buying any of my great reasons for needing to get inside to photograph the animals without interference from crowds. So I found a small opening in the fence, and zoomed in on this fine fellow enjoying his day off. I decided to paint him where he would surely prefer to be, on the flat, empty Gobi Desert, under a clear, blue sky.
