African Street Vendor

AFRICAN STREET VENDOR

The fellow this character is based on was plying his wares among the diners at a sidewalk cafe in Arles, France. He was friendly, unassuming, and polite. He had a backpack and was selling leather goods. I was reminded of the Native Americans selling turquoise and silver from table to table back home in the American Southwest, and the hammock vendors on the beaches of Mexico.
