Man with wings tied to.Angwusnasomtaka. The mother of all the Kachinam. She comes in early Spring, from her home in the San Francisco Peaks, to all three Hopi Mesas, bearing corn seed and bean sprouts to begin the planting season and yucca whips to oversee the initiation of young men into the Kachina societies.

As with all the female Kachinas, Crowmother is represented by a male dancer.

  1. These colors are fabulous. The background is especially sublime. The light and shadows are so illuminating. As usual, a feeling of life in the Kachina. About to move.

  2. These kachinas always having special qualities that delights the eye never stops and the meanings that created them. Fascinating. Your painting them really brings them to life.
