RIDERS ON THE RANGE / Daily Painting #962

Oil on Paper Mounted on Panel / 6 x 6 Inches

Wow! It's been about a month since I last did one of these. That felt good!

We had to run down to Santa Fe today. Errands, hairdresser for Thea, Best Buy for me, materials for both, and paintings to drop off for a couple of collectors, lunch at La Fonda, drinks with Cousin Jerry, snack dinner at Whole Foods, and back up the Canyon, remembering songs from our youth. All in all a hectic, but a fun date.

I ended up having to paint after we got home, around ten o'clock. Now, to post this and today's photo, and it's off to bed for yours truly, Johnny Juanderlust.

NOTE! I have a special new WORKSHOP coming up in July. Click HERE for details. I hope you can join us.

  1. Oh Juan, this is so fabulous….love the light it’s infused with and the gesture. I don’t know how you come up with this…right out of your head, right? Fabulous.

  2. The effectiveness really shows. It is so real looking showing riders wearing scarfs because of the dust and how the horses feel running in the dust. You really know how to show the real details in your paintings. That is one of the reasons I enjoy them so much.
