Life isn't easy in the dry country on the edge of the plains. For proof, take the train from Lamy to Dodge, and count the abandoned homesteads, the empty homes, and the faded dreams as they pass by your window.

And, yet, for the strong of will, the determined, those who persevere, the air is clean, the stars are bright and many, and the rewards are real.

If you would like some expert help with framing your purchase, just call Thea, 505 982-4561, and she will take good care of you.

  1. I just love these “tender” watercolors. There is something so peaceful about this painting despite the rough life in the dry country.

  2. The appeal of the desert lonely places has to be philosophical, not romantic.
As you say, life out there is tough. I think the key may be to seek to have less and to be willing to love what nature presents in those places. On Black Friday, this is something to think about. (No malls for me, thanks.)
