MASCARA CON BARBA / Daily Painting #1238

Mascara con Barba / Watercolor / 6 x 9 Inches

Remember that mini-adventure I told you was coming up today? Well, here it is. We went on the San Miguel de Allende Home and Garden Tour. It was hot, real hot. The buses were crowded, with seats to fit third graders, traffic was a mess, and all the houses were multi level, with lots of steep, narrow stairways.

The first house was not our cup of tea, the second was very nice, but, again not something we would necessarily aspire to. The third was the winner. After crawling laboriously across town, the bus finally dumped us out, and our intrepid guide said it's just right up there. Turns out, that meant three or four steep, steep blocks of SMA's notoriously challenging cobblestones. We made it, though.

And what a happy surprise to discover that it was a large B n B, and gorgeous to boot, but more interesting was the fact that it was home to the great Mask Museum everyone has been telling us we must see.

To be continued…

¡Hasta Mañana!

  1. This one I need more info on. He is very frightened and scared. The mask to me shows slavery. Must have been made for a special program. Really shows emotion .
