HEMIS KACHINA / Daily Painting #1288

Hemis Kachina / Painted on my iPad Air / ArtRage3

Hemis Kachina performs in the Niman Ceremony, or Home Dance at the end of the Kachina season, when the Kachinam return to their home on the San Francisco Peaks southwest of Hopi, near Flagstaff. To learn more, click on Kachinas.

Being back in the Southwest, I am already drawn to the Kachinam as subject matter.

  1. I agree. The real point of these dolls has been missed. The first ones I saw of your paintings made me feel that there has to be reasons that has been missed or were they hidden to protect them. This one looks like a Monastery. There are so many and everyone of them different. When I looked them up on Google could not believe how many and they are for sale by other companies.
