KACHINA VILLAGE / Daily Painting #1405

Kachina Village / Ink and Watercolor / 7 x 10 Inches / Daily Painting #1405

When we visited our daughter Rosa and John in the house they just bought in Kachina Vilage, south of Flagstaff, a couple of days ago, I managed to get us lost on our way back out to the Black Canyon Highway.

I’m glad I did, because, otherwise, we would have missed this scene, with its towering Ponderosa Pines, a lightning struck snag, a field of beautiful yellow wildflowers, and a man and his dog, out for their morning constitutional. A scene I had to paint.

After some serious computer gremlin problems yesterday, I think things are back to normal today. I certainly hope so.

  1. AMAZING HOW YOU DON’T SEE HOW BIG THAT TREE IS UNTIL YOU SEE THE SILHOUETTE OF THE MAN AND DOG. . . NICE IMAGE. . .
    KEEP A WET BRUSH !

  2. Your Photographic mind never fails in possessing or displaying perceptions of accuracy and sensitivity. When first looking at the tree. I knew it was high. Seeing the man with the dog and the fence really makes the picture. The colors show a beautiful landscape.
