Street dogs, like this handsome fellow, are an important part of my street photography.
I came face to face with this guy as I was exiting an art exhibit in Taos recently. He was barking half-heartedly at passers-by. Warning, or invitation to play? I took it to mean don’t get any closer to this vehicle, bud! Of course, he was probably just asking, “Have you seen my master anywhere”?
Another photographer friend behind me said, “That John, he will shoot anything”. He was right.

The Loved One / Painted on my iPad Air / ArtRage3
Here's a new one for my ongoing series of everyday people, a series even older than my paintings of horses or Kachinas. People watching has always been a favorite pastime for me. I find the most ordinary people doing the most ordinary, human things to be a most extraordinary subject. Just people being people.
Whether alone or in a crowd, they are to me the most fascinating subject.
Today, in fact, I spent most of the day wandering the streets of this beautiful, romantic and bustling old city, Sevilla, people watching.
¡Hasta mañana!
Sarge / Watercolor / 6 x 9 inches
I ran into this handsome fellow while visiting Galleries down in Santa Fe a couple of days ago and got the owner's permission to take a few shots of his dog, Sarge. I enjoy painting dogs, and especially Bulldogs.
