JEFF OLIVER, ON THE HIGH ROAD TO TAOS

JEFF image-85C9974F0FBE-1.jpeg

That’s Jeff, my Grandson-in-law, husband of Emily, father of Brianna and baby Hazel, gone wild with his iPhone, shooting up a storm. I think I’ve met my match!

Day’s End

This group of cottonwood trees is something I just can’t resist shooting any time I pass it on my way to Albuquerque. I decided to add a hint of a campfire to thescene by moving a spot of light from the setting sun, using TouchRetouch’s clone stamp and painting over it a little using the healing tool and the dodge and burn tool in Snapseed.

Sandias and Clouds

JPEG image-79E34961DDA8-1.jpeg

It’s summertime and the skies are alive, making the drive to Albuquerque even more beautiful than usual.

THE DISTANT SOUND OF FROGS

Early this evening, I was chasing a larger cloud that refused to cooperate.

When I stopped and looked to my right, this much nicer scene presented itself.

See you tomorrow

AUTUMN MEMORIES

EL PRADO AUTUMN / iPhone 6+ / PhotoForge2

Well, that snow a couple of days ago didn't last very long. The color hasn't returned, but I do have a couple of recent shots that I've been wanting to share with you from the days leading up to this current cold snap.

THEA'S GARDEN FROM THE OFFICE WINDOW / iPhone 6+ / PhotoForge2

I hope you enjoy them.

Hasta mañana.

SURE ENOUGH

WINDOW REDO / iPhone 6+ / PhotoForge 2

Brrrr. Same view this morning, but quite different than yesterday's image. It's like the scene got photoshopped – by nature.

By the way, I finally got to the bottom of the preview problem with my KACHINAS book. Blurb previews don't work properly on iPads. Probably because iPads don't do Flash. It is working fine on PCs and Macs, though.

If you haven't already, click on this link and have a look:

Hasta mañana.

TAOS CLOUDS / Daily Painting #1342

Taos Clouds / oil on panel / 6 x 8 inches

I had to run a couple of errands in town today. Everywhere I looked, there were beautiful monsoon clouds. Of course I had to come home and paint some of them.

SUMMER SCENE / Daily Painting #1339

Summer Scene / oil on panel / 6 x 8 inches

I didn’t make it down to Santa Fe today, after all, but I did find a 6 x 6 panel. The rains didn’t come today. It’s as though the clouds, and the sky was filled with them, needed a day of rest. They did manage to keep the sun at bay, so things didn’t get all dried out. Also, I was able to gather a bunch of new research material for future paintings, including the material for today’s painting.

MONSOONS AND SAGE / Daily Painting #1337

Monsoons and Sage / oil on panel / 6 x 6 inches

The monsoons are here. The skies are filled with clouds of all kinds and shapes. Subject matter is everywhere. And I’m having a blast painting them. I had to do one more. This one is looking off to the west, across the Rio Grande Gorge.
