This is the Mission Chapel of Our Lady of Light, an abandoned mission revival church in Lamy, New Mexico. The Amtrak train station for Santa Fe is located across from this church, which can be seen from the passing Southwest Chief between Los Angeles and Chicago. This painting is part of my Amtrak series.

Well, there I was on Wednesday, boarding the Amtrak train at Lamy,  just outside Santa Fe, New Mexico, headed for Chicago. As many of you know, I recently finished a large commission portrait of six horses. The 36 x 72 Inch painting has been shipped to its new home in Homer, Michigan. I’m on my way there, now, to meet up with the painting and to help in its installation. I’ll be posting images of the painting and the installation here and on my website soon.

The train ride went well, but it was a pretty tiring 25 hours. I picked up a car in Chicago and headed out of town looking for a room for the night to rest up, do my daily painting and get it posted. After dinner, I found a motel, and got all  settled in and ready to go to work. Then the computer and internet connection problems began. In the wee hours of the morning, I decided I’d better get some rest and catch up later.

Sorry today’s painting is going to be late. Hoping for better connections soon. Will catch up as soon as I can. Thanks, again, for your patience.

Now might be a good time for you to visit the Collectors’ Exchange and scroll through some of the previous paintings. You might just find something you missed.

And now, on to Homer!
