During May of last year, I had the pleasure of teaching a workshop in the Dordogne region of France. This was a scene in my room at Le Petit Rousset, on the edge of the small Bastide town of Eymet. Click on http://johnfarnsworth.com/workshops.html for details. The painting is an unusual combination of still life and self-portrait. That’s me in the photo on the nightstand, holding a hand carved wooden pen my co-teacher, Kathy Dunham, had given me. And the bed? Believe me, it was a welcome sight after long days of teaching, exploring, and socializing. There are quite a few photographs from that trip on my other daily blog, http://johnfarnsworth.com/daily_image.html, and I expect there will be more paintings from the same trip showing up here in the days to come.
