TIME TO RIDE

A young bull rider prepares to mount an angry, uncooperative bull, a bull that's determined to get out of that buckin' chute, and out from under that rider.

BULL RIDER MAKE-READY

Another found life of bull rider gear from the recent Taos Rodeo before we go to the action shots.

BULL RIDER STILL LIFE

I went to photograph the Taos Rodeo last week. I took only my iPhone 6s Plus, and elected, as usual, to shoot mostly behind the scenes. This found still life is the sort of thing I was after. However, in the coming days, you will see that I drifted into some action shots, as well.

THE RIDE

Continued from yesterday…

All's well that ends well!

Hasta mañana.

BULL RIDER STILL LIFE

BULL RIDER STILL LIFE / iPhone 6s Plus / Snapseed

Today was the last day of the 2016 Campeonato Internacionál de Charrería. Tomorrow I rest and try to get all four days' images sorted, saved and backed up. It won't be a day off, but it will be a day off my feet!!!

What's next? Stay tuned…

Hasta mañana.

Ahhh, the City Different. I miss it. But then I miss just about everyplace I’ve ever been, and every place I haven’t been. I’m at home, yet I’m homesick even for places I don’t yet know exist.

Some folks have a taste only for the hustle and bustle, the noise, and vibrant tone of a big city. Others prefer the tranquil, laid back quiet of small towns, Some seek the solitude of forest or desert. Most seem to prefer their favorite, their comfort zone, to the exclusion of the other possibilities.

Not this happy camper. I like it all. I like an apartment in New York, Paris, Buenos Aires. I like Betsy on the streets of Los Angeles. Or in the depths of Canyon de Chelly, the Ponderosa forests and streamsides of Northern Arizona. I like small towns, like Taos, and living in old adobe walls with mud floors, or San Antonio de Areco, in Argentina, or Guanajuato in Mexico. I like living in hotels in Nice, or Sevilla, or Mexico City, roaming the streets, photographing people. But none of them to the exclusion of the others.

What about you? Where do you live? Where would you like to live? Are you content living in one place, or do you feel the need for frequent change?
