THEY’RE BACK!

THEY'RE BACK! / iPhone 6s Plus / Snapseed / Filterstorm

This morning, our main player's cap from yesterday's photo had been replaced by a hat. The smaller of the pair appears to have inherited the cap. Meanwhile, the winter yellow of the dried background sunflower stalks was just too tempting for me to pass up. I would be happy to know which of these images you prefer.

I finally made some progress with the research today. My order of Kachina books, however, seems to have been lost in shipping. We're working on it.

When I looked out the window this morning, my first thought was “Hmmm, Winter Wonderland. Wonder why I'm still here”.

Hasta mañana.

SOMEONE’S UNCLE / Daily Painting #1026

Oil on Paper Mounted on Panel / 6 x 6 Inches

This fellow, a part of my Everyday People Series, looks like an uncle to me. A hard working railroader, maybe, or a miner or lumberjack, the type who would come to visit two or three times a year, full of fascinating stories, and with a healthy appetite. The kind I grew up around.

OK, those who know me know I never grew up. But you know what I mean.

CHARACTER STUDY / Daily Painting #1019

Oil on Paper Mounted on Panel / 6 x 6 Inches

This character study of a young man is the latest in my series of Everyday People paintings. My intention was to portray not an individual, but an expression of deep reflection.

DUBIOUS Daily Painting #817

DUBIOUS

Oil on Panel / 6 x 6 Inches

Again with the everyday people. I had planned to do another painting of palm trees and cumulus clouds for today's post, but this fellow just wouldn't wait!

I'm going to try and photograph Kachinas tomorrow at the Autry Museum, but you've seen what happens to my plans. We'll just have to wait and see. Such is life with Serendipity as my sidekick.

I do hope to head for warmer country soon.

WAITING

Street painting, like street photography, is a result of one of my favorite pastimes, people watching. This is the second in a series within a series. Bus Stop people in front of over-sized advertisements. Relating, not relating, they make for what I feel are some interesting juxtapositions.
