IN THEA’S GARDEN

Another bit of beauty in Thea's garden.

LITTLE PLEASURES

Flowers from Thea's garden bring a touch of color into our old adobe home.

TRANSITION IRIS

I brought this iris into the house yesterday as a bud, to see if it would open. It did, last night, but started fading away later today. I thought I would wait for it to dry, but as I walked past it this afternoon, It grabbed my attention.

With the green of the counter top, the orange of the Mexican plate, and the purple of the iris combining for a perfect palette of secondary colors, it was not to be ignored.

I took a quick snap with my iPhone, loaded it into Snapseed, played around with various sliders, and this found still life is the result.

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST II

I'm not really done with the irises, yet, but Thea's peonies have made an appearance and this one just won't wait.

THE BIRTH OF ART NOUVEAU?

I love playing with the sliders in Snapseed to bring out the jewel-like and stained glass colors of an object like this iris.

ONE MORE TIME!

Thea tells me the irises have just about run their course for this year. But wait, here's one that I noticed this morning, opening up to give us one more show of extreme beauty.

PISAC STILL

Here's one from the archives, a still life I found while wandering the back streets of Pisac, Peru.

Hasta maƱana…
