Following breakfast on the portal, I looked down and noticed this interesting graphic possibility. I think it could serve well as a book cover or greeting card image with the lower right area a natural location for a title and/or other text.
I also like the contrast between the delicate flowers and the cracked concrete.
I took a drrive on the Camino Abajo, the road below our house, a couple of evenings ago, and ran across this grey beauty who seemed to love posing for me.

When I saw these two little scooter ponies at the flea market in Quartzsite I was tempted, briefly, very briefly, to mount one on top of Betsy, sort of like an oversized take on a hood ornament. Sometimes it's best to keep one's creativity in check! I'm sure they would look much better on your wall.

Elephant and Pens / Oil on Panel / 6 x 6 Inches
This wooden elephant caught my eye a couple of years ago at a garage sale.
A couple of days ago, I turned away from my computer and found this still life, illuminated by the sun coming through my studio window. The sun had changed its course, lighting the elephant in a way I’d not seen before. My eye was caught again. I took a couple of quick snaps with my iPhone, and couldn’t wait to share it with you in this painting. I hope some of you will enjoy it as much as I did.
I do occasionally arrange a formal still life, but it’s the “found” still life, that special moment in time when things just take their own place to suggest a composition, the light is just right, bringing out exactly the right features, or for some reason I can’t quite put a finger on, something just stops me in my tracks and says “Paint me!”
